Placements are again dictated by the instructions if using the beginner set up. Each player starts with 2 colonies, 1 spaceport and a colony ship on the board. Picking a colour they also take all the associated player pieces, from space ports to ships. While the starting planets are printed on the board, those out in the galaxy printed on tri-planet tiles that fill gaps in the board.Įach player is going to take a large mothership, which is used throughout the game for checks. With randomised or explore variants possible, the easiest is a beginners default layout of planets and outposts – which is listed clearly in the main rulebook.
